Columbia Law School's Discover Law Day 2012
Sat., Mar.3rd 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Description: This program, entitled Discover Law Day, will take place on Saturday, March 3rd from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This initiative is part of a larger concept developed by the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC), a national organization headquartered in Pennsylvania. Under this initiative, law schools from across the country are encouraged to sponsor outreach events to ensure that the legal profession continues to attract members of racial minority groups.
Columbia’s program on Saturday, March 3rd, is sponsored by the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and the Latino Law Students Association (LaLSA). The program will include two panel presentations, two breakout sessions, and dinner. One of the panels will feature current Columbia Law School students, who will discuss strategies for achieving academic success in high school, college, and law school. The other panel will feature Columbia Law graduates who will discuss their various careers. The breakout sessions will be interactive periods in which students will have the opportunity to participate in a mock
